The sound library of Biscarrosse provides books recorded on CD for the benefit of blind and visually impaired people.

Loan of recorded books

With 125 Sound Libraries in France, the Sound Library of Biscarrosse Pays de Born was created under the patronage of the Sound Library of Arcachon in 1998. It is part of the association of the "Donneurs de Voix" which was created in 1972 by Charles Paul VANNEBROUC.

A simple and effective principle

You, one of your friends or a member of your family, is blind or visually impaired, The Sound Library lends free of charge, upon presentation of a disability card or a medical certificate, books recorded by volunteer voice donors.
There is no registration fee or membership fee. The discs run on CD players capable of reading mp3 format. Most of the books in the sound library are also recorded on audio discs for CD players.

Reading workshops are organized at the EHPAD (old people's home) of Biscarrosse for the elderly, people suffering from Alzeimer's disease.

Permanence on Wednesdays between 14:00 and 16:30 in a room of the Médiathèque Municipale.
